Mr. Tim Long
Acting Headteacher

I would like to welcome you back after what I hope has been a relaxing and enjoyable summer, despite the weather.

As Acting Headteacher for this academic year, I would also like to say how excited and privileged I feel to be able to be part of such a successful school as Bridgewater. This summer we achieved our highest ever grades at GCSE. Overall our percentage pass rate for 5 GCSE's, including English and Maths, rose an impressive 6% to 74%. The school's pass rate for 5 GCSE's overall was an exceptional 88%, a 4% increase over last year. KS3 results also were amongst our best ever with particularly strong results in English, whilst the 6th Form showed steady progress. Overall these reflect extremely well on the work of our students and colleagues as well as the support of parents and guardians and I would like to extend my congratulations to all involved.

If you visit either Upper or Lower site, you will notice from the outside a whole range of improvements from exterior painting and tarmacing, to new windows across significant areas of the upper site. Inside, you will find a range of refurbished rooms, including a complete refit and redesign of the Lower School library. These improvements, in conjunction with the excellent progress made this summer by our students, indicate that we should take real confidence in Bridgewater's capacity to sustain its impressive progress to date and I would like to wish everyone involved all the best for this academic year.
