Reflect on the materials,techniques and processes which interested you. For example,texture, photography,painting,expressive mark making, textiles,mixed media, photography.
Make a list of the subjects that interest you. For example, femininity, Identity, Architecture, Transition, surface, masculinity,relationships social issues environments landscape advertising. Some students have made links with other subjects such as biology, maths geography.

   Summer Homework

Task 1
Liverpool has some fantastic art galleries! Over the summer break you are required to visit the Tate gallery and the Walker Art gallery. During your visit you are required to make 3 good quality studies from works which you find interesting. The studies can be in colour or black and white. Your studies should be no larger than A4 in scale. You need to write a response to the works which you have selected. This response should include the following :
Find out about the artist and write a bit about his/her background
What are the ideas or concepts behind the work
Discuss the creative process from concept to realisation
What qualities do you find interesting and why
Thimk about  mood, form, colour  composition meaning, materials

Task 2
Make one response to each artists work.

Task 3
Relect on all the artists you have looked at over the last few weeks
Choose one you find really interesting
Make three responses to that artists work which also connects with your chosen subject area eg Surface, Masculinity
