Title Page. Using guide lines, boxes and text sheets. 

Complete Title Page - Using tonal colour, images of various artist work.  You must annotate with name of artist, name of piece of work and date of completion. Suggested artists:Hockney, Picasso, Milroy, OKeefe, Durer
         
 2 Experimental Drawing workshop.
Drawing in sketch books using biro. (Risk taking) Opposite hand. Continous line. Eyes closed. Touching object. 1,2,3 min drawing.

Use one of the techniques learnt today to complete your own natural form drawing. To be completed in sketch book must cover 1 page.
         

Pencil
Observational drawing of a natural form.  Focusing on TONE, SHAPE, DETAIL, TEXTURE.

Charcoal
Focusing on TONE.  Observation drawing on sugar paper using charcoal. 
Looking at the drawings of AUERBACH.   Using finger to smudge and  rubber/white chalk to add highlights.


Complete your own natural form drawing using pencil.  Must be at least half a page in sketch book.

Oil Pastel
Introduction to colour theory. Looking at Les Fauves.  Students to complete an observational drawing of a natural form using Hot and Cold colours.  
Hot colours - YELLOW, ORANGE, RED
Cold colours - GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE

Chalk
Continuing colour theory and looking at patterning.  Observational drawing of the detail of a natural form - cropping etc.  OKEEFE example. Looking at the impact of using contrasting colours and harmonious colours.

Ink
Pen & Ink/Stick & Ink observational drawing.  Demonstrating cross hatching to show form, shape and tone.

Paint
Observational painting of a natural form. Looking at : colour mixing, colour theory, application. CEZANNE example.






9 Mixed media
Introduction of collage and use of any of the above techniques. Recapping on the new skills the pupils have developed.

Continuation and completion of the above
Evaluation of the project.  In sketch books.  Using the evaluation pro-forma.  Decorate with drawings in different stlyes.
