This scheme of work is suitable for a Year Seven class as a fun and exciting way of exploring text through Drama. 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT:

What you want to achieve and how you intend to achieve it. 

Aim – Is to give pupils the opportunity to work and rehearse with text in an explorative environment. 

Objectives –

1.        To physically play around with the text

2.        To be adventurous with the text in a practical way

3.        For pupils to take responsibility for their own learning and their own performance

4.        To encourage pupils to enunciate text with volume, clarity and definition

5.        To interpret the text in a creative and imaginative way

6.        To encourage pupils to act in an energetic, lively, committed and varied way

7.        To understand text and communicate meaning to an audience

1 Introduce the scheme of work and its aims. Get the class warmed up with a selection of games. In Year Seven the games will be as important as the drama created, especially as this will be early in the school year. Introduce the idea of a skeleton script and discuss it with the class. Give the class the main skeleton script to be worked on and practise learning it and playing with it.

 Dealing with others
2 Begin exploring the different styles, emotions and accents in performance. Victorian Melodrama Worksheet.            
3 Continue working through Victorian Melodrama. If finished begin Murder Mystery Worksheet.            
4 Continue working through Murder Mystery. If finished begin Spy Film Worksheet.            
5 Continue working through Spy Film. If finished begin Gangster Film Worksheet. 

Hwk - Set homework to write a two page script in a specific style or genre.

            
6 Continue to work through the whole range of explorative styles included in the scheme of work, Wild West, Mills and Boon Love Story, Horror, Children’s Television Programme, Science Fiction and Action Film. Set the aim for each group to pick a style to focus on and produce as a rehearsed final performance for next week.            
7 Final rehearsals and then watching the performances. Discussion and feedback from the pupils about the scheme of work. QMA - Written Script
