The ICT Curriculum @ Bridgewater – Key Stage 3 - Year 7

Year 7

In Year 7 at Bridgewater, all students have one lesson per week of ICT; this lasts for a 1-hour duration. Schemes of Work are based on the ICT National Strategy, which have been adapted to allow the development of students as independent and autonomous users of ICT.  Working with a number of applications such as: Desk Top Publishing, Word Processing, Presentation Applications, Spreadsheets and using Internet Search Engines pupils improve and further develop their ICT skills.

Each student will have the chance of using the following software packages during Year 7:

Use Microsoft PowerPoint to present information for a specific purpose and audience.

Learn about where to get information from and what you use it for. Alot of this unit will involve internet related activity searches.

Learn about how to communicate and share information with others.

All unit 7.3 homework resources will be given out on a weekly basic during class
In Unit 7.4 pupils will:

Investigate a basic spreadsheet model based around a school tuck shop.
